Demand
for the biofuel very exceeds the supply, so alternative sources of biomass are
required. It refers to fuel produced from once-living organisms. Usually, it is
used for running vehicles or supplying electrical power via a diesel generator.
Much extensive research is conducted for the use of algae as a potential source
of biodiesel because of the plentiful resources of Marine Microalgae Biomass in freshwater and
other marine sources. In many countries throughout the world, the cultivation
of algae or algaculture is carried out at large scale for the production of
biodiesel. The important fuels
synthesized from algae oil are biogas, biodiesel, bioethanol, biobutanol and
dry algal fuel (similar to coal) such as the group algae aviation fuel has
created.
