Harvesting Microalgae

In the present, pollution is increasing rapidly that affects the lives of aquatic organisms and decreases the quality of water so many studies emphasis on using algae as a bioremediation technology for wastewater treatment. It is also beneficial in the production of bio-oil. The demand for the oil for biofuel production very exceeds the supply, so alternative sources of biomass are required. Microalgae might be a great source of biofuel that makes sense environmentally and economically if valuable co-products are produced simultaneously but high cost and energy demand of Harvesting Microalgae also remains a major challenge. Instead of land-based crops, Microalgae have several advantages in terms of oil production and it grows much faster than land plants.
