Highest Natural Betacarotene


From all type of algae, Dunaliella salina is an important one that able to produces β-carotene in high amounts, up to 12% of dry matter.  It is the most important species of algae for the production of β-carotene, however, other pigments and compounds like lutein, chlorophyll, glycerol, and polyunsaturated fatty acids are also produced by these, making the genus one of the most important for commercial production.  Due to a large content of the Highest Natural Betacarotene,  Dunaliella attractive to biotechnologists for large-scale production in high-salt, nitrogen-deficient, inorganic media in shallow, open ponds under high solar radiation. It is marketed in various forms such as extracts, powder for human use, and dried Dunaliella for feed coloration.

Uses of algae in various fields

Algae as the fuel source
They can be used to make biodiesel, bioethanol, and biobutanol and some are used in the production of a superior amount of vegetable oil and compared to the other crop that is grown in the agricultural land.

They can be used by certain power plants to reduce carbon dioxide emissions. So the carbon dioxide can be easily pumped into the pond and tank. On the other hand, the bioreactor can be installed directly at the smokestack.

It is good to have certain research on them and understand the use that they give to human and to nature. Instead of using the chemicals and other products that are harmful to the environment it is the better option to use them in those applications.
